You're invited to the Tour de Turtles Events



COSTA RICA LIVE SEA TURTLE RELEASE

STC researchers will be attaching a satellite-transmitter on a green sea turtle as part of the Tour de Turtles migration marathon. Starting at 8 am, visitors can stop by STC's Research Station Visitor Centre for an up-close look at the turtle and transmitter attachment process, then head out to the beach for the turtle's release under the Start Gate at 9 am (please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early).

Location: John H. Phipps Biological Field Station, Tortuguero, Costa Rica
Entrance: This event is free and open to the public



NEVIS LIVE SEA TURTLE RELEASE

STC researchers, with help from the Nevis Turtle Group, will be attaching satellite-transmitters on two hawksbill sea turtles as part of the Tour de Turtles migration marathon. Visit Pinney Beach in front of the Four Seasons Resort Nevis to see the turtles' release under the Start Gate at 9 am (please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early).

Dates: Sunday, July 12 & Monday, July 13
Time: 8:30 am - 9 am
Location: Pinneys Beach, Nevis
Entrance: This event is free and open to the public.



FLORIDA REHAB SEA TURTLE RELEASE

STC will be attaching a satellite-transmitter on a loggerhead sea turtle as part of the Tour de Turtles.

Date: Friday, July 17th
Time: TBA
Location: Marathon Key

Entrance: This event is free and open to the public.
Parking: Parking is limited. Carpooling is recommended.



FLORIDA LIVE SEA TURTLE RELEASE

STC will be attaching satellite-transmitters on two loggerhead sea turtles as part of the Tour de Turtles. Visit the Barrier Island Center to see the turtles' release under the Start Gate at 8:00 am (please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early). Following the release, there will be fun, educational activities for kids on the deck. T-shirts will be for sale for $20. (Download pdf flyer)
